Robbery At Markham Hotel
York Regional Police are searching for a "rock-wielding robber" after a Markham hotel was held up yesterday morning.
At about 1:45 a.m., a man walked into the Monte Carlo Inn at 8900 Woodbine Ave. and approached a clerk at the front desk.
The man demanded cash and threatened to bash the clerk with what police believe was a rock.
The clerk handed over money and the man bolted through the inn's front doors.
The clerk was not injured.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with a light complexion, 25 or 26 years old and five-feet, eight-inches tall with a skinny build.
He has short, brown hair, a full scruffy brown beard and was wearing a blue jean jacket and blue jeans.

YRP Search For Assault Suspect
York Regional Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an assault on a woman and committing an indecent act in Markham.
On Saturday, July 21, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the 27-year-old female victim was walking westbound on Steeles Avenue and entered a walkway that runs north and south to Norn Crescent when she saw the suspect walking towards her from the south.
As he approached her, the suspect exposed himself.
The victim tried to walk away when the suspect made an attempt to grab her by the arm.
The victim swung her arm at the suspect, yelled and ran away.
The suspect is described as a male, South Asian, dark complexion, 5’7”, thin build, with short black hair and a thin black moustache.
He was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Markham Man Arrested After Toronto Drug Bust
A Markham man working in Toronto's club district has been arrested by police on a drug charge.
Toronto police said they had been watching Republik Lounge, investigating the alleged distribution of cocaine inside the club.
At about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Toronto police raided the Richmond and John streets-area club, arresting the Markham man who worked there.
Pouria Samaeipour, 26, of Markham is charged with trafficking cocaine.
