A 68-year-old woman was killed when the car she was travelling in collided with a tractor-trailer last night in Woodbridge.
York Regional Police said the woman and her husband were driving on Hwy. 7 when they collided with a tractor-trailer at the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Pine Valley Dr.
The 65-year-old man managed to escape the wreck without serious injury.
The 27-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer and his 54-year-old passenger were not injured.
Traffic investigators closed off the intersection overnight to reconstruct the accident.
Police are still trying to determine if either one of the drivers were at fault.

Markham Fire Probes Thornhill Blaze
Markham Fire investigators are continuing to probe the cause of a blaze at a Thornhill home Friday evening.
According to an official, twenty-two firefighters responded to 157 Langstaff Rd., in the Bayview Avenue and Hwy. 407 area, just after 10:30 p.m. after flames were spotted in the two-storey home.
Two people were in the home as the blaze raged — one managed to get out, the other was rescued.
Damage is pegged at $80,000.

Markham Installs "Share The Road" Signs
The Town of Markham will be unveiling new street signs during a press conference at Middlefield Collegiate tomorrow, to promote the safe sharing of roads for cars and bicycles.
The installation of these signs is part of Markham's on-going effort to promote safe cycling and road safety in general.
The new signs will be installed in strategic locations along 112 kilometres of on-road bicycle routes.

Sandra Parrott accepted the nomination last week.
Parrott has worked with the NDP on every election campaign since 1997 and finally decided to throw her hat in the ring.
A resident of the Thornhill Green Co-Op, Parrott has been a vocal supporter of affordable housing in York Region and the rights of the disabled.

YRP Search For Pacific Mall Murder Suspects
Investigators are canvassing Markham's Pacific Mall, in an effort to seek further information on the whereabouts of Peng (Victor) Li, 25, of Markham, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the First Degree Murder of Long (Owen) Sha.
Mr. Li’s mother, who lives in China, is urging her son to seek legal advice and arrange his surrender to York Regional Police.
A Canada-wide warrant has also been issued for the arrest of a 17-year-old male from Toronto, for First Degree Murder.
His name cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Li and the 17-year-old were part of group of seven males who were involved with the May, 2007, homicide.
The remaining five have already been arrested.
