Sylvester Describes Ross' Murder

The accused killer of Alicia Ross broke down and cried as he admitted to killing his next-door neighbour in a videotaped police statement shown to jurors by prosecutors on Thursday.
Daniel Sylvester, who pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, gave his version of what happened in the early morning hours of Aug. 17, 2005, the day the 25-year-old Thornhill woman went missing.
The videotape was part of a series of taped police interviews played by prosecutors for the eight women and four men on the jury in the Newmarket courtroom.
On the recording, Sylvester tells police he went for a walk around 1:30 a.m on the grassy path that separated his home from Ross'.
That's where he encountered Ross who swore at him and asked him what he was doing there.
Sylvester says he then attacked Ross, followed by a fight between the two, which ultimately led to her death.
