YRP Search For Sexual Assault Suspect

York Regional Police are seaching in south Markham for a man wanted in connection with a possible sexual assault. Yorkregion.com reports that police have roped off a grassy plot of land on Kennedy Road just south of Denison Street after a woman, 43, said she was attacked while walking to work this morning.The woman struggled and was able to fend the man off, who fled south on Kennedy.Investigators are working with a limited description of the suspect.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7541, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or leave a tip at www.1800222tips.com

Magna Employess Can Unionize

For the first time in the companyʼs 50-year history, Magna International employees can unionize.Magna chairman and founder Frank Stronach and Canadian Autoworkers president Buzz Hargrove, sat shoulder-to-shoulder yesterday, announcing the ground-breaking deal with the Aurora auto parts maker.It means Magnaʼs 18,000 employees at 45 plants across Canada can unionize if results of a secret ballot vote point in favour of the move.

Markham Lauches Respect In Sport

The Town of Markham will announce today its participation with an online program called Respect In Sport.This program will teach coaches and parents how to prevent abuse, neglect, haraassment and bullying in sport, and to address the legal and ethical responsbilities associated with these issues.Markham is the first community in Canada to launch this program.
