Markham Man Leads Police On Two Seperate Chases

A Markham man was arrested after he fled a York Regional Police traffic stop Sunday morning.
At about 3:45 a.m., police tried to stop a vehicle in the Hwy. 7 and Ninth Line area.
The motorist refused to stop and led officers on two seperate chases.
The man was eventually caught and arrested.
Aly Khan Moyez Jiwa, 27, of Markham is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor
vehicle, driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood, two counts of attempting to evade police, obstructing police and two counts of breaching probation.

Two Men Attacked At RH House Party

Two men were attacked outside a house party in Richmond Hill Sunday morning.
At about 12:44 a.m. the pair were walking outside a home on Browndale Crescent, in the Bayview Avenue and Elgin Mills Road area, when they became involved in an altercation with another group.
According to York Regional Police, one of the men was stabbed, suffering serious injuries, while the other suffered minor wounds.
Three men are facing aggravated assault charges.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

For the second night in a row, the Blue Jays fell to the Oakland Athletics by a score of 6-4.
Toronto came back from a three run defecit to tie the game 4-4; but Oakland took the lead in the seventh and held on for the win.
The final game of the three-game series will take place this afternoon at the Rogers Centre.

At the Little League World Series, Japan defeated Canada yesterday 7-1.
The Canadians will face the Carribean team this afternoon in Wiliamsport, Penn.

And Micheal Peca has signed a one-year-deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
According to Peca's agent, Don Meehan, the agreement will become offical pending a physical.
Peca played in 35 games for the Maple Leafs last year, scoring four goals and adding 11 assists.
