Elderly Woman Stabbed; Son Arrested

York Regional Police have arrested a Vaughan man in connection with a domestic incident.
Yesterday, a citizen traveling on Forest Fountain Drive found a 72-year-old victim sitting in front of her residence suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim was treated and then rushed to hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation revealed that the assault was the result of a domestic dispute and the victim’s adult son was arrested at the scene.
Charged with attempted murder is Angelo Brevetti, 31, of Vaughan.

Toronto wasted a solid outing by pitcher AJ Burnett, who went seven innings, striking out 13 batters and throwing 130 pitches.
The Jays begin a weekend interleague series against the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight.
