Sylvester Jury Begins Deliberation

After receiving instructions from Justice Edwin Minden this morning, jurors will begin deliberation in Daniel Sylvester's second-degree murder trial.
Following more than two weeks of evidence and testimony from 12 witnesses, the jury must now decide if Alicia Ross' death was an accident or if Sylvester intended to kill her.
On Friday, Jurors heard four hours of closing statements from Crown prosecutor Kelly Wright and Sylvester's defence lawyer, David Hobson.

Bird With West Nile Found In Markham

York Region’s first bird with the West Nile virus has turned up in Markham.
A dead crow, testing positive for the virus, was found near the intersection of Hwy. 7 and Ninth Line.
The bird was picked up as part of the region’s West Nile virus program.
Health services requests you report dead crows and blue jays to determine possible West Nile virus activity in York Region.
