Photos: Centre For Dreams Fundraiser

From June 26-28, Markham resident Harry James ran on an elliptical machine, to raise money for The Centre For Dreams. Every day, Harry was on the elliptical from 4am - 4pm. CHEV Radio was there.

The Centre For Dreams is an organization that provides educational opportunities to adults with special needs. The centre strives to focus on their members' abilities and not their disabilities.

Man Wanted For Sexual Assault

York Regional Police are looking for a man after a woman was sexually assaulted in Concord yesterday.
Around noon, the woman was working alone at a Millway Avenue and Langstaff Road area business when a man walked in looking for information.
After being told a sales representative would be in shortly to help him, the man approached the woman and touched her inappropriately.
The man had a red complexion, possibly sunburned, was 50 to 60 years old with a short, heavy build and white hair balding on top.
He was wearing glasses, a golf shirt with green stripes and denim shorts.

Woman, Two Kids Recovering After Rollover

A Markham woman and her two children are recovering after their minivan rolled across Hwy. 407 yesterday.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the woman was driving a Pontiac Montana east on Hwy. 407 at McCowan Road when the minivan went out of control, crossed the centre median and rolled onto the westbound lanes.
She was taken to Markham-Stouffville Hospital with minor injuries.
Her two children were also transported to hospital with bruising.

Frank Thomas became the 21st player in Major League Baseball history to hit 500 homeruns.
Thomas reached the milestone with a three-run shot in the first inning of yesterday's ball game.
However, the Blue Jays wound up losing to the Minnesota Twins 8-5.
The Jays are in Seattle to begin a weekend series with the Mariners.
Dustin McGowan (4-3) will face Seattle's Jarrod Washburn (6-6).
First pitch: 10:05pm

The Argonauts kicked off the regular season on a losing note, falling to the BC Lions 24-22.
Toronto's Bashir Levingston set a CFL record when he returned a missed field goal for 129 yards.
The Argos are back in action next Saturday when they face Hamilton.

The NBA draft was held last night.
Portland had the first overall pick and selected Ohio State centre Greg Oden.
Meanwhile, the Raptors acquired forward Giorgos Printezis from San Antonio, in exchange for a 2008 second round draft pick.
