Actors Filming in Markham

Film stars Jude Law and Forest Whitaker are at the Angus Glen Golf Club this week filming a movie called Repossession Mambo. Filming began Monday morning and continues until Thursday.Part of the film is being shot in a house on Harper Hill Road . Scenes will also be shot from the third hole of Augus' south golf course.

Markham Author Nominated For GG Award

A Markham resident has been nominated for a Governor General’s Literary Award. In the drama category, Markham writer Salvatore Antonio received the nomination for his work, In Gabriel’s Kitchen.The winners of the prestigious awards will be announced on Nov. 27.

Third Body Found In Burned Out Van

York Regional Police say a third body has been discovered in a burned out van found in King Township.According to Investigators, the discovery was made following an examination by an expert forensic anthropologist.Police have said DNA or dental records will be required to identify a woman and a girl found burned to death inside the van.The bodies were discovered after a man showed up at a home late Sunday night and screamed through the intercom for someone to call 911.Police say they are still unable to question the 46-year-old man, who suffered serious burns and is under sedation in hospital.
