Veteran Firefighter Dies Of Job-related Illness

A veteran Markham firefighter with strong roots in the community has died from an job-related illness.
Capt. Paul Donahoe, 51, a resident of Stouffville, died Tuesday evening from Non-Hodgkinʼs Lymphoma, according to a statement from Markham Fireʼs union.
Capt. Donahoe was known for his community involvement and served as the president of the Markham Fair last year.He is survived by his wife, Luanne, and son, Joshua.The funeral will be held at The Bridge Church, 5440 16th Ave., Markham Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

Man Charged For Luring Children

Toronto Police have charged a Markham man in connection with an Internet luring probe.Between February and October, the man had sexually explicit conversations with an undercover officer posing as a 13-year-old girl.Suraj Khera, 29, of Markham is charged with two counts of luring a child under 14 years of age, invitation to sexual touching, exposure to a person under 14 years of age and possession of marijuana.
