YRP Search For Assault Suspect

York Regional Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an assault on a woman and committing an indecent act in Markham.
On Saturday, July 21, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the 27-year-old female victim was walking westbound on Steeles Avenue and entered a walkway that runs north and south to Norn Crescent when she saw the suspect walking towards her from the south.
As he approached her, the suspect exposed himself.
The victim tried to walk away when the suspect made an attempt to grab her by the arm.
The victim swung her arm at the suspect, yelled and ran away.
The suspect is described as a male, South Asian, dark complexion, 5’7”, thin build, with short black hair and a thin black moustache.
He was wearing a black shirt and black pants.

Markham Man Arrested After Toronto Drug Bust

A Markham man working in Toronto's club district has been arrested by police on a drug charge.
Toronto police said they had been watching Republik Lounge, investigating the alleged distribution of cocaine inside the club.
At about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Toronto police raided the Richmond and John streets-area club, arresting the Markham man who worked there.
Pouria Samaeipour, 26, of Markham is charged with trafficking cocaine.

Robbery At Markville Shopping Centre

A man is wanted by York Regional Police for robbing a Markham bulk food store on Sunday.
At about 4:45 p.m., the man entered the Bulk Barn in Markville Shopping Centre and approached a female clerk working at the cash register.
According to police, the man passed her a note demanding cash and indicated he had a gun.
Moments later, he fled through the Sears store to a vehicle parked on the lower level at the far east end of the mall.
The robber is male, possibly East Indian, 30 to 40 years old, five-feet, seven-inches tall with a heavy build.
He had short, straight black hair and was wearing a black baseball cap with white lettering, sunglasses, a light-coloured short-sleeved shirt, dark pants and a watch on his left arm.
He escaped in a black four-door vehicle similar to a Chrysler Neon.
