YRT Reviews Safety And Security Threats

Yorkregion.com has learned that York Region Transit will spend $150,000 to assess security gaps and conduct threat-risk checks.
According to an official, the purpose of the YRT review is to assess which holes, if any, exist in its security strategy and it will allow the system to conduct threat-risk assessments and educate its staff on threat recognition.
Other safety measures may include the use of closed circuit TV cameras.
The implementation of cameras in some sites and buses is already underway.
