$1000 Fine For Fishing Out Of Season

An Oshawa man has been fined $1,000 after taking a walleye and a whitefish from Lake Simcoe, after the season was closed in 2006.
Constantine Sokolowski pleaded guilty and had his fishing licence suspended for six months.
According to a Ministry of Natural Resources press release, Sokolowski is a repeat offender
The ministry reminds you that closed fishing seasons are designed to protect fish populations in Lake Simcoe during vulnerable periods.
