Markham Man Arrested, Charged With Theft

A Canada Post employee from Markham and two Toronto men have been arrested and police have laid numerous charges of stealing mail after they discovered a number of stolen cheques had been altered and cashed in.
York Regional Police said Tuesday that the thefts have caused "significant financial losses for companies across North America."
Police began working with postal inspectors to track where the cheques came from.
As a result, police say they arrested a Canada Post employee, Orville Brown, after they saw him transporting mail from a Canada Post building to his home in Markham.
