Police Lay 335 Charges During Belt Blitz

York Regional Police charged 335 drivers and passengers for not wearing their seat-belts during the first week of a provincial-wide blitz.
The public is reminded that a conviction for not buckling up will result in a $110 fine and two demerit points.
According to police, 1,400 people have been charged for not wearing a seat-belt and three people have died in crashes in which the improper or non-use of a belt was a factor.
