Rouge Park Gets $2 Million

The Provincial Government has demonstrated its support for Rouge Park in Markham, by investing $2 million.
Supporters and politicians stood in the rain and wind yesterday, to hear Markham MPP Michael Chan make the announcement.
Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti and York Regional chairperson Bill Fisch were on hand for the announcement, which they said signified a partnership between the region, town and province.
The region has set a target of allocating 25 per cent of York Region for forest cover.
Today, it stands at 22 per cent.
