Sports Report

The Blue Jays snapped a four-game losing streak last night; defeating the Oakland Athletics 11-7.
CF Vernon Wells led the offense with two home runs.
Game two of the series will take place tonight.
Jesse Litsch (1-2) will face Oakland's Joe Blanton (7-4).
First pitch: 10:05pm

Derrell "Mookie" Mitchell has signed on with the Argonauts.
Mitchell played for the Argos from 1997 - 2004 and is the team's all-time leading receiver.
Toronto also signed former NFL kicker Steve Christie.
Originally from Oakville, Ontario, Christie will be assigned the club's practice roster.

The Maple Leafs have resigned Bates Battaglia to a two-year deal worth $650,000 a year.
The left winger picked up 31 points last season.

At the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, yesterday's winners were Portugal and Mexico.
Congo and Austria tied 1-1.
