Two Markham Youths Charged With Robbery

A pair of youths are facing charges after two robberies in Markham.
On June 20 at about 3 p.m., a group of people were walking in the McCowan Road and Highglen Avenue area, when they were approached by two male teenagers.
One, holding a knife, demanded a woman's cellphone and then a man's wallet.
Later that day, another man filed a report telling police he had been robbed of a booklet of bus tickets while walking home near 14th and Coppard avenues.
Two youths — one 16 years old, the other 17 years old — are charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of disguise with intent.
Their names cannot be published under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Both appeared in a Newmarket court yesterday and are scheduled to return in August.
