Press Release - Markham Seeks Award-Winning Residents

MARKHAM, ON ~ Does someone you know deserve an award? Think about nominating them for Markham’s Achievement and Civic Recognition Award (ACRA). The ACRA awards are given every two years to those who have made a significant contribution to the community that has brought recognition to Markham.
Award categories are:

-Business/Corporate Achievement
-Cultural Achievement
-Community Service
-Environmental Achievement
-Sports & Recreation

“These awards are very prestigious,” says ACRA Award committee chair Regional Councillor Gordon Landon. “Past winners have included Markham residents Bill Crothers, Cliff Moss, Dr. Ken Ng, Tony Murphy and Javaid Malik. I am sure you know someone who deserves to be honoured.”
Nominations close Friday, October 12, 2007.
Nomination forms are available at the Town’s community centres or online at www.markham.ca.
