Press Release - Town Joins Guinness World Record Walk Challenge

MARKHAM, ON ~ Join Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Members of Markham Council as they participate in the Guinness World Record Walk—an attempt to break the world record for the largest number of people walking one kilometre simultaneously

When: Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:15 (Walk to begin at 12:30 sharp EST)
Where: Markham Civic Centre, Great Hall Entrance101 Town Centre Boulevard (Ward Avenue & Hwy. 7)

The Town of Markham joins communities across Canada to promote a culture of walking through participation in the World Record Walk. This complements Markham’s commitment to Active 2010 and to encouraging walking and bicycling as more active means of transportation.
