York Region Raises Thousands For MS Society

The SuperCities Walk for MS raised about $5.5 million across Ontario to fund multiple sclerosis research and services, while at the same time providing local services to people with MS and their families.

Here are the results of The SuperCities Walks for MS across York Region:

• About 775 people walked in Newmarket, raising more than $126,000.

• About 425 people walked in the Loblaws SuperCities Walk for MS in Markham-Stouffville, raising more than $79,000.

• About 575 people walked in Richmond Hill/Thornhill, raising more than $92,000.

The MS Society of Canada’s next fundraising event is the MS Carnation Campaign from May 10 to 12. This helps kick off MS Awareness Month across Canada.
