YRP To Launch Seat Belt Blitz

York Regional Police is set to launch their provincial seat belt campaign.
Officers will conduct spot checks across York Region, from April 18 - 30.
Failure to use seat belts properly can result in a $110 fine and two demerit points.
Drivers are also responsible for passengers in their vehicle under the age of 16.
As part of the campaign,
the Ministry of Transportation and York Region Health Services will also hold a one-day child car seat clinic (weather-permitting), on April 18 from 9 a.m. to noon, at Canada’s Wonderland (9580 Jane St. in Maple).
Inspections will be on a first-come, first-serve basis and the available time will only allow for 60 vehicles with installed car seats to be inspected.
