Five people have been arrested in connection with what York Regional Police are calling a large-scale forged document factory operating out of a home in Milliken.
On March 6, officers patrolling the Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue area spotted two vehicles. According to police, the people inside the vehicles were acting suspiciously.
After launching an investigation, officers came to an Eastpine Drive home, where they found property used to make documents.
The home was raided on March 7, as police seized hundreds of fake documents including passports, college and university diplomas, degrees, other government documents and equipment used to make them.
Ruiqiong Zhong, Yan Shen and Jie Xu, all of Markham, Yuanxia Zhu of Vaughan and Zhaoyang Wang of Scarborough, were each charged with two counts of forgery and one count of possession of instruments of forgery.
