Markham Man Charged In Smuggling Ring

A joint task force has broken up a cigarette smuggling ring worth millions of dollars, which has resulted in charges against a Markham man.
Investigators say a contraband search by Canada Border agents in Vancouver set off the probe, leading to a rental truck depot on Tapscott Road in Toronto's north-east end.
Liqiang Zhang, 29, of Markham, four men from Toronto, a 25-year-old Mississauga man and a 38-year-old man from Chicago are charged with the unlawful possession of tobacco products.
The men are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 10.
