Three Rexdale youths face charges after a violent robbery in a Vaughan skate park.
Yesterday, at about 8:20 p.m., two teenaged boys at the Vellore Village Community Centre skate park, near Weston Road and Major Mackenzie Drive, were accosted by three youths who demanded cash.
An altercation ensued with one of the victims getting whipped in the face with a belt.
He was treated for minor injuries and released.
About 40 minutes later, three suspects were picked up by police in the Weston and Comdel Boulevard area.
A 14-year-old and two 15-year-old boys, all of Rexdale, are charged with robbery.
Their names cannot be released, under terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
