Sports Report

The Blue Jays failed to sweep the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim last night, losing 4-3.
Former Blue Jay Kelvin Escobar went seven strong innings giving up just one earned run on five hits.
The Jays begin a three-game weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles at the Rogers Centre.
AJ Burnett (6-6) will face Baltimore's Garrett Olson (1-1).
First Pitch - 7:07pm

Meanwhile, Toronto has optioned IF Hector Luna to Syracuse.
Shortstop Russ Adams has been called up to take Luna's spot on the roster.
Adams is currently batting .262 with 11 home runs and 54 RBIs for the Skycheifs.

At the Rogers Cup tennis tournament in Toronto, yesterday's winners included Justine Henin, Jelena Jankovic and Svetlana Kuznetsova.
The tournament continues at York University.

Game one of the Intercounty baseball League Final takes place tonight.
The Maple Leafs host the Brantford Red Sox at Toronto's Christie Pits.
