A former Thornhill teacher is the new president of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario.
David Clegg, a teacher with the region's public board, was elected at the federation's annual meeting yesterday.
Clegg has served as the federation's first vice-president since 2003 and was first elected to the provincial executive in 1999.
He got his start in teaching in 1992 and has taught grades 6, 7 and 8, most recently at Wilshire Elementary School.
