Sports Report

The Blue Jays are three games above the 500 mark, for the first time since April, after beating the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 2-1.
One night after Roy Halladay's solid performance, Sean Marcum continued the trend, giving up just one run on four hits, to win his fifth straight start.
The Jays will try to sweep the series tonight at the Rogers Centre.
Dustin McGowan (8-6) will face LA's Kelvin Escobar (12-6).

At the Rogers Cup tennis tournament in Toronto, yesterday's winners included Yan Zi, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Nadia Petrova.
The tournament continues at York University.

The Maple Leafs have advanced to the Intercounty finals after beating Guelph 13-8, in game seven of their best-of-seven series.
Toronto will now face the Brantford Red Sox for the Jack and Lynn Dominico Trophy.
The series begins on Friday.

Thornhill's Susan Wickware fired a two-under par 70 yesterday to move into third place after two rounds of the Investors Group Women's Mid-Am Championship in Stratford.
