York CAS Prepares For Possible Strike

Staff at the York Region Children’s Aid Society could be on strike by the end of the month.
Talks have broken down between the Newmarket organization and the 180 Ontario Public Service Employees Union workers.
The two sides are negotiating wages, workload and mileage.
The most recent contract expired on March 31, 2007.
No bargaining dates are scheduled.
