Sports Report

The Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox last night 6-1, sweeping the three-game series.
The big blast came in the 8th inning when shortstop Russ Adams hit his first career grand slam.
The Jays are off today and will begin a weekend series against the New York Yankees tomorrow.

The Maple Leafs picked up their first pre-season win, beating the Phoenix Coyotes 3-2.
Forward Chad Kilger scored the game winning goal midway through the third period.
The Coyotes and Leafs will have a re-match this evening in Toronto.
Puck drop - 7:30pm, Air Canada Centre.


In the OHL, Sault Ste. Marie beat Saginaw 7-5.
Tonight, Sudbury plays Peterborough and Barrie hosts Ottawa.
