Two men and a woman from Toronto have been slapped with 47 fraud charges in connection with a counterfeit debit card scam in Markham.
On Sunday night, two off-duty York Regional Police officers were in a plaza at 8601 Warden Ave. when they spotted the three suspects at the Scotia Bank ATM.
The woman seemed to be in disguise, sporting a blond wig and baseball cap.
More than $18,000 was seized by police.
Police believe 40 fraudulent transactions were made in 35 minutes.
All three are expected appear in a Newmarket court Thursday.
