450 Charges Laid During Seat-Belt Campaign

York Regional Police have announced that more than 450 drivers and passengers were charged during the provincial seat-belt campaign between April 18 and 30.
This year’s campaign emphasized the new law that permits only as many people in a car as there are seat-belts.
During a one-week campaign last year, 320 drivers and passengers were charged.
Drivers must wear seat-belts at all times and are responsible for ensuring anyone under 16 in their vehicle is properly restrained.
