YRP Use Chopper To Find Grow-Op

York Regional Police have closed down a Maple marijuana grow operation, after its location was confirmed from the sky with a heat identifying camera mounted on the force's helicopter.
According to police, officers in the chopper spotted a home on Rideway Court, in the Jane Street and Major Mackenzie Drive area, emitting heat consistent with a pot grow.
That information was given to drug officers who later searched the home with a warrant, turning up a fully functioning grow-op and more than 160 plants in various stages of growth.
The hydro had also been stolen.
Hythme Nassr of Vaughan is charged with production of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and theft of electricity.
He is scheduled to appear in a Newmarket court on June 7.
