A York Regional Police officer was killed this morning while working on an investigation on a residential street in Unionville.
The Toronto Star is reporting the undercover officer died after he was struck and dragged by a car on Harvest Moon Drive at 5:46 a.m.
According to reports, police are investigating the death as a homicide.
Details are sketchy but police on the side street, which winds between Birchmount Rd. and Kennedy Rd. one block north of Steeles Ave., were paying close attention to a single car at the scene.
York Regional Police have yet to make an official statement.
