York Regional Police have arrested a Vaughan man for possessing child pornography.
In July 2007, an investigation began after Internet Child Exploitation Unit officers received information from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police about images of child pornography located on the suspect’s computers during another investigation.
A search warrant was sought to seize the computers and compact discs and as a result of examination, images of child pornography were discovered.
The owner of the computers, Eugene Shavrov, 45, of Vaughan turned himself in to investigators.
He has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice today.
