The town of Markham will be holding a flag raising ceremony to honour India's Independence Day.
Deputy Mayor Jim Jones will be on hand, as well as the Consul General of India, Satish Mehta.
The event will take place at the Markham Civic Centre (101 Town Centre Boulevard), tomorrow at noon.
The ceremony commemorates India's berth as a sovereign nation on August 15, 1947.
