Court Date Set For Deputy Mayor

Markham Deputy Mayor Jim Jones, is to appear in a St. Catharines court on April 17th.
Neither Mr. Jones nor his lawyer was present at the court this morning for a bail hearing on sexual assault charges.
The Markham regional councillor was charged with one count of sexual assault by Niagara Regional Police. The charges stem from an incident on Feb. 1st, after a 21-year-old cleaning woman at the White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa, filed a complaint.
A police source said the complaint was about unwanted touching.
The former Conservative MP was at the resort on a retreat with York Region councillors.
